About The Speak Up Culture Assessment:

Creating an inclusive workplace culture where employees can say what is on their mind, effectively make contributions to projects and processes, and comfortably offer criticism — without fear of retaliation — is key to a high performing organization.

The Speak Up Culture Assessment is a survey that provides nuance around the norms of employee voice in your organization. What are people most comfortable talking about? What is taboo? How are ethics issues raised?

What Our Assessment Will Reveal:

It will tell you who (based on demographics, as the survey is anonymous) may be reluctant to speak, which topics are the most controversial, and some ideas of why employees feel reluctant.

Process:

The assessment is designed to probe settings in which employees are most reluctant (or comfortable) to contribute ideas or criticism.

The survey asks about two scenarios:

  1. A private, one-on-one meeting with the respondent’s direct supervisor; and
  2. A group meeting with the respondent’s supervisor and peers.

See sample questions from The Speak Up Culture Assessment.

Goal:

The assessment determines whether there’s a problem with information flow in the workplace. It helps identify problems areas (specific teams or functions) and helps draw inferences about systemic issues. The goal is to get to the heart of workplace culture dynamics that, when addressed, can help better engage employees to contribute to their work teams.

Next Steps:

Ethical Systems can customize this module based on areas of concern for your company.  We will work with internal stakeholders to identify the topics that are most relevant to your work processes and get to the heart of their affairs and questions.
