Communications Consultant

The ideal candidate is a constructive team player who believes in the mission of the organization.  They would balance competing demands on their time while adhering to, and following through on, deadlines while maintaining a positive and teambuilding attitude.  Preference will be given to people based in NYC who are able to attend team meetings in person.  

Reporting: This position reports to the executive director.

Time commitment: 10-15 hours a week.

Pay: $15 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the primary point of contact for all public-facing aspects of Ethical Systems
  • Create, implement, and evaluate the communications strategy
  • Generate content (online and otherwise) and package it in ways that promote maximum uptake and usability according to our various constituencies
  • Build and manage our online presence through Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and other social media
  • Respond to other communications related requests from the team as appropriate

Qualifications:

  • A team player, able to work effectively individually or as part of a team
  • Passionate about making the world a better place through improved ethical functioning of corporations
  • Experience in communications with proven track record of success
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Formal or informal familiarity with psychology a plus
  • Business experience preferred

Ethical Systems Intern

The ideal candidate is a constructive team player who can move seamlessly across functions and believes in the mission of the organization.  They would balance competing demands on their time while adhering to, and following through on, deadlines while maintaining a positive and teambuilding attitude.  Preference will be given to people based in NYC who are able to attend team meetings in person.

Reporting: This position reports to the executive director.

Time commitment: 10-15 hours a week.

Pay: $12 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing support to the core Ethical Systems team
  • Updating the website and blogging as requested
  • Compiling examples of ethical systems and assisting with particular research projects
  • Reviewing relevant academic and popular literature according to particular objectives and summarizing the work reviewed
  • Identifying other relevant organizations and exploring how we can engage with them
  • Responding to ad hoc requests from the team as necessary
  • Supporting the Business Outreach Program as necessary

Qualifications:

  • A team player, able to work effectively individually or as part of a team
  • Passionate about making the world a better place through improved ethical functioning of corporations
  • Experience in operations or research preferred
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Business experience and psychology experience a plus
